About
We are a domestic non-profit 501(c)3 club nestled in the North East Georgia Mountains. We welcome all levels from beginner to advanced to join us. Being a part of our Pickleball Club is as easy as signing up for our newsletter.
We play on our beautiful six lighted outdoor courts and six indoor courts. Our players range in age from 12 to 80+ and we welcome you to join in for a friendly, casual or competitive game.
Our Story
In the fall of 2015, Habersham County saw its first pickleball games, and from the very start, it was clear that the sport was not only fun but also a great way to stay active, challenge yourself, and connect with others socially. As our player base grew and skills improved, so did our passion for the game.
Since 2018, the Habersham County Pickleball Club has gained a reputation for excellence, with our players regularly competing and winning medals in men’s, women’s, and mixed doubles tournaments. Whether you enjoy casual play or thrive on competition, there’s a place for everyone in our community.
We welcome all skill levels, offering opportunities for both social play and competitive training. We have Certified Instructors available for lessons, and we offer two free beginner classes each month.
Led by Peggy Fortson, USA Pickleball Ambassador for Habersham County, we’ve made incredible strides, including the campaign for dedicated outdoor pickleball courts, completed in 2022. Under Peggy's leadership, the Club became a nonprofit in 2021, and we continue to grow with over 450 members today. As a nonprofit, we are committed to hosting events that benefit both our members and the local community, using proceeds to support recreation facilities and local charities.
We look forward to welcoming players from all over to join us on our beautiful new courts and experience the joy of pickleball!

Our Impact
Since 2021, the Habersham County Pickleball Club has proudly donated over $46,000 to enrich lives and strengthen our community.
Through spirited tournaments like PickleSham Palooza, special fundraisers, and holiday events, our members come together not just to play, but to make a meaningful impact—on and off the court.
These efforts have helped numerous Habersham County departments including Emergency Services, The Animal Shelter, Meals on Wheels Program, Parks and Recreation, and supported vital local organizations including the Boys & Girls Club, Habitat for Humanity, Circle of Hope, CASA, Family Resource Center, area food banks, and more.
When you play pickleball with us, you’re doing more than enjoying a great game — you’re joining a movement to build a stronger, safer, and more connected Habersham County.
