Wrapping Up 2025

As we wrap up another year and I pass the President paddle to Mike, I’ve been taking time to reflect on just how far we’ve come together.

Serving as your President for the past four years has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. What started as a shared love for pickleball —has grown into something far bigger — a true community (more like a family) built on friendship, sportsmanship, laughter, and generosity.

Together, we’ve accomplished so much. What began with fewer than 50 people has grown far beyond anything we imagined. Along the way, we’ve introduced tournaments, leagues, and competitive events, created opportunities to learn the game and continue improving, and built an environment where spirited competition and genuine camaraderie happily coexist. While I'm incredibly proud of this growth and success, I'm equally as proud we have stayed true to our promise to give back. Thanks to your generosity, hard work, and willingness to step up whenever needed, our club has contributed more than $46,000 to the community. That number represents far more than dollars — it represents kindness, service, and the heart of this club.

None of this happened because of one person. It happened because of volunteers who showed up early and stayed late, board members who gave their time and talents, players who welcomed newcomers with patience and encouragement, and members who understood that this club is about more than wins and losses. It’s about paying it forward, remembering what it felt like when we were new, and lifting each other up.

As my role transitions to "Past President", I will continue serving as the Ambassador of Habersham County and will always be a cheerleader for HCPC — something I do with immense joy, pride and gratitude. I have complete confidence in our leadership and the exciting future ahead. This club is strong, resilient, and filled with people who truly care — and that’s a winning combination.

Thank you for trusting me to serve, for the friendships, the laughs, the rallies, and the shared purpose. I look forward to many more games together and to continuing to give back on and off the court.

Wishing you and your families a Merry Christmas, a joyful holiday season and a Happy, healthy New Year.

With heartfelt thanks,

Peggy (P1)

Welcoming 2026

Hello fellow pickle ballers. I wanted to let everyone know how excited I am to be the incoming president of our great club. I know I have some big shoes to fill with P1 stepping aside even though she will still be playing a big role for the club.

I would like to share a little about myself. I am a Georgia native born and raised in Columbus Georgia. I grew up playing sports and now I’m very mature still trying to play sports.  I love every aspect of playing pickleball - it is my social outlet and such an incredible game. I spent 38 years in corporate America. My wife Pam and I have had a cabin or home in Habersham County since 2000. We would never consider living anywhere else. We love living here!!! I feel like I know most of you already. The rest of the board and I are here to make 2026 the best Pickleball year ever.

I’ve been a little under the weather lately, but I’m doing much better now - so please come out and watch people like Gwen Fry, Lamar Miller, Amie Hebb and both of the Rudy’s play me, and I will beat them with the same ease and regularity that I always have.

Mike
