A significant change occurs this month as your Board of Directors will experience multiple changes in personnel as three members are completing their terms and new volunteers are considered. Don't be fooled, it takes a lot. These volunteers dedicate time and energy to keep our club responsive and effective. Let's be supportive of our Board members as they organize court rules of play and court use.

We started with three indoor courts and have expanded to have use of six indoor and six outdoor courts. Our initial goals have been met and future planning underway. What direction that takes us now is focusing more on activities such as drills, some one-day events and our tournament. Have thoughts, ideas, needs? Talk to Board members and share what's on your mind. You are also invited to present at Board Meetings as scheduled in advance.

Drills

There is little argument within the pickleball about the essential value of drilling. As Drillmaster Amie says, "Drills don't have to be boring". There will be an opportunity to sign up for organized drills and will be available tomorrow. In the meantime, familiarize yourself with Amie's take on drills by clicking here: DRLLING

NOTE: Sign up for all drill sessions will be available on the Website Tuesday, 10/19.

Instructors

Reminder to all who are compensated for coaching, instructing, etc. Each court must be reserved through HCRD and a fee of $10 per court paid. This Rec Department rule applies to all courts, at all times, on all days (Fees for indoor courts may be different).

Open Play

Open play hours are Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 0700 until 1400. During these hours all courts are in the normal paddle rotation system as posted and courts cannot be held by any one group unless empty courts are available but must be released when open play needs courts. A challenge court may be established, if available, but those players must stack paddles for that court only while participating.

Open Play Balls: The Franklin X40 is the pickleball provided for club use. If you wish to use any other ball you must ensure that all other players in the game approve of the substituted ball. Only Franklin X40 are permitted in the ball hoppers. The primary reason is that other balls (e.g. Life Time) play differently and often affect play when changing balls game to game.

SAVE THE DATE. Our Holiday luncheon this year will be held at the Rec Center on Monday 12/7/26 at 12:00. Y'all come now!

Next Board Meeting will be Tuesday, November 17th, at 12:00. There is time on the agenda for your thoughts and suggestions. As always, we welcome you to join us. If you wish to be heard, please contact any Board member.

And that will be enough of that....
