Annual Board Planning Session.

While everyone was out in the sun playing pickleball or whatever, your Board of Directors was suffering mightily. Despite having to endure the tranquil and woodsy beauty of Marva's home and her wonderful breakfast, we managed to add some cinnamon rolls and lay out goals for the next 1-5 years.

Our long-term goal was decided to be additional courts (3-5 years). In order to achieve this, we have committed to a series of events that entertain our membership while raising funds and honoring our obligations to the court owners, County of Habersham, as well as our Memorandum obligations to the Recreation Center and local charities.

The planning committees are listed below with the board liaison to each group noted as point of contact. We need your, help, vision, time, labor and contributions. Remember, nobody gave us the courts we have, we EARNED them.

We will have our Picklesham Palooza and Dink Your Heart Out events as usual, but adding more fun single day events like ladders, group and team competitions, and MLP like formats in addition to drills.

We need you, since this is for us all!

The club provides pickleballs and water. Based upon price and general satisfaction we are sticking with the Franklin X40 outdoor balls. Feel free to bring a specific ball type if you wish and all players agree. Donations of $ or X40's are always welcome. Indoor players also use Franklins. We buy both in quantities of 100 for best value.

H20 due to the heat we are killing it with water. Refrigerated water is available in the outdoor shed. If the supply inside frig is low - please replace from the available supply near frig. Please don't use this as your primary water/hydration source, but rather as an additional need. Feel free to drop off a case or so now and again. We could use it!

Tournament - Picklesham Palooza

Liaison is NOT P1. It is now and forever, Brian.

Gonna need a lotta help here! We all know how much work this takes; before, during and after. P1 will likely help or Brian is dialing Gwen's number for the next tournament. (Tentative dates are 7-8 May).

Day Long Events

Liaison is Amie

Rather than tie up all weekend, one day events are less expensive and time consuming than multi day. These will be specialty days offering MLP style, restricted level events, club battles, etc. Great fun and competition without the burden of tournament travel and stress. Dates for these events will be provided soon.

Dink Your Heart Out

Liaison is Marva

Our ever popular and fully skill integrated "Dinkathon". Everyone plays with blind draw partners and dinks the day away. (Tentative date is February 10).

Next Board Meeting will be Tuesday, August 18 at 12:00. There is time on the agenda for your thoughts and suggestions. As always, we welcome you to join us. If you wish to be heard, please contact any Board member.

And that will be enough of that....
