November 2025 Habersham County Pickleball Club

WINTER IS COMING!

Run away! Run away!

Maybe overly dramatic but that's what the players in "Game of Thrones" first thought when they heard that warning.

Like us, they ignored the first taste of chilled air, the three layers of clothing to peel and the thud of a cold ball cracking. And then, they crumbled before the gale force bearing down on them and scurried to the windless and warm indoors.

And therein lies the problem......

Making six indoor courts carry the demand that twelve courts barely satisfy.

So, how do we accomplish this? We don't. Those numbers just don't work. There will be longer waits, some widely mixed play and p.a.t.i.e.n.c.e. Outside players will be moving inside and sharing courts. Right gym will remain the primary use of traditional indoor players with the other absorbing overflow. It'll take some getting used to, but it gives us all an opportunity to show some new PicklePals skills. PLEASE BE NICE, ITS HOLIDAY SEASON.

Rules Clues

9.D. If a player has touched the non-volley zone for any reason, that player cannot volley a return until both feet have made contact with the playing surface completely outside the non-volley zone. A maneuver such as standing within the non-volley zone, jumping up to hit a volley, and then landing outside the non-volley zone is a fault.
