Pickleball Family,
As the year draws to a close, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on all we've achieved together in 2024. It's been an incredible year of growth, camaraderie, and unforgettable games. Whether you're a seasoned pro or a newcomer, your energy and spirit make our club a special place.
2024 Highlights
A Growing Family: Our club has grown by leaps and bounds this year! Thanks to your warm and welcoming attitudes, new players feel right at home on the courts.
PickleSham Palooza 2024: Our second annual tournament was a huge success. We had significant growth over our first tournament with 169 participants - representing four states and 36 towns across Georgia.
Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon: In June, we recognized our incredible volunteers for our tournament and those that volunteer throughout the year. Whether you were a tournament volunteer, facilitate a Drill Group, teach new players, handle our finances, give of your time on our Board of Directors, volunteer your handyman services, decorate for our events, or any other task you have provided, your generosity, time, and effort are the heart of our club's success.
Play It Forward: Organized by Christine Tekippe, many of you have embodied the "Play It Forward" spirit mentoring new players and fostering a positive environment on our courts.
Drill Baby Drill: We are fortunate to offer three Drill Group options. Drills provide players a chance to work on a set of skills to improve their game. Thank you to Sarah Shearouse, John Bigelow, and Paul Leet for managing these Drill Groups. The courts are reserved for drills on Tuesday & Thursday per our MOU with the County. The specific hours are posted on the fence gate at the outdoor courts and inside at on the bulletin board.
MLP Success: Our HAB MLP league organized by Amie Hebb, launched with fantastic enthusiasm! We’re already looking forward to the next season offered in 2025.
Memorable Matches: From intense rallies to heartfelt laughs, every game is a reminder of why we love this sport and this community.
Looking Ahead
The New Year will bring exciting opportunities, including more league play, our 3rd annual tournament, and other events to connect with fellow pickleball enthusiasts and give-back to our community. Stay tuned for updates.
Warmest Wishes
On behalf of your Board of Directors, I want to wish you and your loved ones a Merry Christmas, a joyful holiday season, and a Happy New Year. Thank you for making our club a place of laughter, learning, and lasting friendships.
See you on the courts!
