February 2025 Habersham County Pickleball Club

Welcome to Pickle y'all

Our 4th annual DINK YOUR HEART OUT event was great fun and a much-needed respite from the winter grind. We extend special thanks to everyone who patiently handled the recent high demand for indoor courts. Our mission and purpose are rooted in inclusion and respect for all skill levels and styles of play.

I hope to see you on the courts!

And the results are in! After 44 participants competed, the Final Four were Kimberly

Perry and Jim Ralph vs Amie Hebb and Rudy "The Younger" Valadez with Amie and Rudy winning 11-10. Congrats champs. Props to our last two out, Patti Nicholas and Bobby Denton, who just missed the finals. The proceeds from this event purchased an AED (automated external defibrillator) which will be delivered to Emergency Services. They are extremely grateful, and our commitment to use our pickleball to support our local community continues to be honored.

Point of Privilege: So great seeing players of all levels mingling, partnering and competing together. Our club prioritizes playing WITH over playing AGAINST.

DRILL GROUPS

To clarify, drill groups are simply folks who want to work on repetitive skills in an informal gathering with volunteer coordinators. Groups have priority at the set times for a limited number of courts. In case of inclement weather outside drill groups may ONLY use inside courts for drills if they are free. Normally no full games are permitted during the drill sessions.

NOTE: Starting in April, drill groups will be using the website for registration to participate and GroupMe will be the day-to-day communication tool.

New

HCPC Board

Our next Board meeting will be Monday, March 17th at 12:00 in the Meeting Room in the Aquatic Center. There is time on the agenda for your thoughts and suggestions. As always, we welcome you to join us.

And That will be enough of that!
